Program Mission

Our mission is simple. We aim to help students reach new heights with education. Through our Sevier County education program, we want to provide students with incredible educational opportunities at little to no cost to them! We award scholarships for students to take dual enrollment classes at Walters State Community College while attending one of the Sevier County high schools. Once they have graduated and have successfully completed 60 hours at WSCC, they are eligible to receive up to $3,000 per semester for 4 semesters to enable them to obtain a 4 year degree from ETSU in Sevierville with little or no tuition debt!

We are here to help you.

If you or someone you know is entering or currently in high school and hopes to attend college post-graduation, let us help you plan for the future now! We can help you earn college credits and scholarships even before you step foot in a college classroom.

From Our Recent Grads

" Having all online classes thru ETSU gave me the opportunity to get my bachelor's degree all while working full-time. This allowed me to take as many credit hours as possible that I felt that I could manage. It has given me a lot of confidence and motivation to pursue different goals that I would not have otherwise imagined. I am excited to see where these new and exciting projects take me into the future!

I would like to thank Partners in Progress for recognizing the need for non-traditional student’s access to scholarship funds. Pursuing my bachelor's degree later in life, it became apparent that scholarships were almost nonexistent for the non-traditional student who had graduated WSCC in 1995 with an associate's degree. I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of Sevier County and have a great respect for PIP and all the supporting businesses. A special thanks to Allen Newton for listening to all my education goals even before I was able to get started at ETSU. A big thank you to Brandi Huskey and to my advisor Dr. JoAnne Smith.

With Gratitude,
Janet Valentine
" Hey there, I am Mia, and my college journey has been one filled with growth, gratitude, and a whole lot of learning! I recently graduated from ETSU with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management and Human Resources Management, and I was incredibly humbled to do so Summa Cum Laude (which still feels a little surreal!). Because learning is kind of my thing, I will be soon back at it, on the road to earning my SHRM-CP. During my time at ETSU, I found a true passion for people, leadership, and the heart behind a company’s success. Looking ahead, I am over the moon to continue my venture into the professional world and explore opportunities in HR and management, where I can bring my curiosity and integrity along for this wild journey. Godspeed and Go Bucs! Mia Walker
